Lakawon Island Tour

Lakawon island  resort is recently developed island  resort situated on a banana-shaped island off the shore of Cadiz in Negros Occidental. It boasts a calming sight, clear  water, and white sand beach., it is a fresh must-see beach  in the Philippines.

The word “Lakawon” or  “to walk”  is from  the Cebuano root word “lakaw”. Therefore, throughout the low tide, its sand bar appears and you can  accurately stroll a lengthy distance of white sand beach from the main island.

Lakawon Island  is situated just 48 kilometes away from Bacolod City, the capital of Negros Occidental. It is reachable from the shore of Barangay Cadiz Viejo through a 20-minute boat ride. It is known  as the Boracay of Negros because  of  its powdery white sand beach.

Different to what we know, to be precise the island is more of a sandbar. The white sand beach faces towards the Negros Island whereas the rugged and undeveloped side faces to the open sea. There’s also a tiny fishing community on Lakawon Island.
